We are in search of a person interested in a flexible position requiring only 3-4 days per week. Your start and end times are flexible so long as long as the work is completed to keep our stock levels up.
This position is not customer facing and production orientated you will be required to create Pastry Pies (Savory Meat Pies) and Confections (Sweets) in the South African Style from Scratch.
• Learn new skills for South African style Pastry Pies (Savory Meat Pies)
• Work with puff pastry to make a variety of creations
• Use a pie maker machine for crimped pastry pies
• Create confections from scratch
• Learn the benefits of commercial kitchen establishment and grow knowledge base.

Interpersonal skills – getting along well with colleagues and customers is essential, so those who know how to listen, communicate, and interact pleasantly are preferred.
Commitment to policy – wearing appropriate attire, acting professionally at all times, and following company guidelines are expected
Attentiveness – perceiving what needs to be done and doing it. Quality checks on food prior to completion
Physical requirements – standing behind a table while working with food, bending to pick up items and lifting pie machine on table when applicable requiring strength, flexibility, and stamina (and a comfy pair of shoes)
Multitasking – duties can change quickly based on need, so Pie and Confection creators must prioritize and juggle demands
Calmness – the environment can get stressful during busy times, so remaining patient with demands and level-headed with fast paced working is admirable.
